ALASKA EXTREME ADVENTURES & SAFARIS
About me and my guides:
James A. Smith, owner & operator
Let me thank you for visiting my web site and taking the time to review my Hunting business.  I started
this business from a dream and have worked for several years to establish what I have.  I am constantly
working to improve it so I can offer the best hunt possible.

I am a disabled veteran and have proudly served my country for many years. I spent 20 years in the
Army's toughest units, including the Airborne Rangers, Special Forces and the Army's Special
Operations Forces.  I was both an assaulter and a sniper.  I am a firearms instructor and
I also offer
tactical pistol and long range rifle shooting instruction
.  My disabilities in no way hamper my
guiding abilities.

I have been awarded several medals to include the Silver Star, Purple Heart and the Legion of Merit.
I have always felt that we were just doing our jobs.  I was one of the Operators involved in
“Black Hawk Down”, and that is where I received my Silver Star and Purple Heart.

My background makes me uniquely suited to ensure that you get your trophy experience.
I will be offering the same dedication and devotion to your Alaskan Adventure that I did while hunting
terrorists in my former line of work.  I also have extensive expertise in expedition planning.  I plan every
trip with the same thoroughness and attention to detail that I did in my former career with Special Ops.
Brent Harrington, Assistant Guide:
John “Brent” Harrington has been an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman all his
life.  He has lived and hunted in Alaska for the last 17 years.  He has successfully
hunted nearly every species Alaska has to offer.  As a guide Brent is second to
none and knows how to provide a safe and productive hunt.  He believes in fair
chase and works hard for his client to find and stalk that trophy animal and
make their trip a “Trip of a Lifetime”.

Brent has an engaging personality and is an experienced outdoorsman, certified
in first aid and CPR,

Brent guides salmon and northern pike fishing trips in the summer and works as
a general contractor in the off- season to support his avid hunting, trapping and
fishing habit.  He has  two personal “assistants,” his wife and daughter, who
share his love of the Alaskan outdoors.  In between his other activities Brent
enjoys pursuing the elusive Dahl sheep.

My awards and medals
As a hunter who travels I know what you expect from a hunt.  After having hunted four
continents I love to hunt as much as anyone does.  I have worked in some of the most
remote and harsh conditions in the world from Arctic Alaska, the deserts of the Middle East
and the Horn of Africa. We will always ensure that you are comfortable and safe during your
adventure.

I am an expert at wilderness survival having taught it with the US Army.  I have attended
several survival schools both military and civilian.  I have also had extensive training in
emergency medicine.  I was team medic within my sniper team.  Should the unfortunate
accident happen you will be well taken care of.  I am ready to make your trip the adventure
of a lifetime.

All of my guides are like minded professionals who have your best interest in mind.

Thank you and Happy Hunting - Jim Smith
